4 paws for ability is an organization that students get to train dogs and the dogs become service dogs for the special need. This organization was based off a little girl named Karen Shirk. she tried for several of years to get a service dog but was denied by traditional service dogs agencies. She was using a ventilator to breathe and they said she was too disabled to receive a service dog. After being denied she dreamed of a organization where all children can get a service dog and not have limits on who receives one and who doesn't. No child should be denied because they are too disabled and she wanted to help the children who was getting denied because they didn't meet the standard acquirements. Karen as came long way but her dream is now completed. After she felt her calling and she went on the internet helping others and telling them she will help the get a service dog with no restrictions, 4 paws began to grow as much as 300% in a years time. Many years after starting 4 Paws for Ability the first facility was purchased in Xenia, Ohio. As of today they have 90% success rate in the placement of service dogs to alert seizures when they happen minutes or hours beforehand. This can really save someones life which it has even though some organization think you can't train a dog to be alert for seizures but you can.
This information will be a good use in a documentary because it is giving facts about how it started and over the years how they proceed to grow every years and they also talk about how it was a struggle but each year they would find something to help them get out of that struggle. Every time i ear this i question why they turned her down because she was too disable??? that isn't right since she is so disabled she should receive one not denied one

I found this article at http://4pawsforability.org/history/. This is their official website so it gets updated regularly and no one is the publisher
